Setting Up a Facebook Page for Lead Generation
Gillian Singletary
In starting up your social media presence - or just working to make it more effective - you don't want to neglect Facebook. In fact, it has been reported than more than 10% of an average person's internet minutes are spent on Facebook. That means ample time to get your message out, but it also means plenty of competition for your attention. You want to get the most out of Facebook that you can and that means leads. So how can you set up a Facebook page that maximizes leads for your business without sucking up all your time and energy? We've got some ideas that will help.
Customize It
Every Facebook page looks more or less the same. The colors, the structure, the layout. In order to stand out you want to put some extra effort into your page. You need to learn some Facebook best practices. Wrangle someone with a little bit of programming knowledge to customize your page with your logos and your look. The more professional your Facebook page looks, the more your potential leads will pay attention.
Use Tabs for Forms
For the best in lead generation, you'll to have the ability to set up forms in your custom tabs. This way you can ask your fans for contact info, let them sign up for you email list, or enter a contest, all without leaving your Facebook page. This will drive up engagement and get you a robust list of leads fast. NOTE: Facebook tabs are rarely viewed organically. To get the most out of a tab, you must advertize them.
Create Useful Content
If you want to develop any following on Facebook, you have to create and share content. There is no way around it. It can be blog posts on your corporate blog, infographics, or video content, but it must be useful to your followers so that they want to keep coming back. And don't focus on only posting lead generating content (e..g, sign up for our webinar!) Instead aim for overall engagement and post outright lead generating information sparingly.
Include Images...
As a more specific tip, be sure to share plenty of images. In a recent study, HubSpot found the click-through rate of posts that contain photos is 128% higher than on those that have videos or links. The more people are compelled to engage with your content; the more likely they are to become useful leads for you.
...and Calls to Action
Never discount the impact a good call to action. You can include them in your posts, in your images and in any update you share. Whether you ask your fans to like something, comment or otherwise interact with your content, you will be well on your way to generating great leads from your Facebook presence.
