For the Furniture Industry

The Designer Specifies It. The Dealer Invoices It.

A contract furniture project is specified by one party, quoted by another, discounted against a third's schedule and installed months later in phases. ManoByte has built HubSpot for companies at every level of that chain — manufacturers, dealers and retail — and the work is always the same: making a channel your systems can actually see.

    The Cost

A project-length sale inside a CRM built for a single close date

Furniture punishes a generic CRM in a specific way. The revenue is real and the pipeline is long, but almost none of what decides it is recorded anywhere the CRM can read.

The person who chooses you is not the person who buys

A designer or facilities lead specifies the line; the dealer writes the order. Manufacturers see the dealer and guess at the specifier, which makes the most influential relationship in the business the one with the least data behind it.

    One project becomes many part-orders

Phased delivery, punch items, add-ons and a reorder eighteen months later all belong to the same relationship and none of them fit an opportunity that closed once, on one date, for one amount.

Specification lives in CET, and nothing else can see it

The quote that actually decides the deal sits in a specification tool the CRM has never been introduced to, so forecasting runs on what a rep remembered to type rather than on what was specified.

Dealer marketing support goes out unproven

Co-op funds, literature and campaign templates reach the dealer network and come back as anecdotes. Tying that spend to demand that actually arrived is close to impossible when the programme lives in email.

    What Gets Implemented

A channel your systems can actually see

Built on HubSpot and connected to the systems that already hold the specification, the order and the money — not layered over the top of them.

    • Dealers, designers and end clients as distinct record types, each with its own pipeline and owner, instead of one company object trying to describe three relationships that behave nothing alike.

    • A pipeline shaped like a project, not a transaction — specification, quote, award, phased delivery, install and reorder — so a deal that runs eighteen months stops looking like a deal that stalled.

    • A dealer portal carrying literature, pricing, project registration and claims, which is also how that activity becomes data instead of an inbox.

    • The systems of record connected — ERP, order management and ecommerce among them, including NetSuite, Sage, QuickBooks and Shopify — so sell-in sits beside sell-through rather than in a report nobody reconciles.

    • Migration at real scale, where the work is not the import but deciding what to carry across, how segmentation should be rebuilt on the other side, and how deliverability survives the move. Furniture Mart USA moved roughly 300,000 contacts with us.

    • An honest boundary: HubSpot does not replace CET or Configura, and it does not replace a dealer's order management system. Where one of those is the right answer we say so and connect it, rather than bending HubSpot into a shape it will not hold.

    How the engagement runs

    1. 1

Map the channel you actually have

We follow a project from specification to install and record where information stops moving back toward you. The gap is rarely where people expect, and it decides the build order.

    2. 2

Model the chain and connect the systems of record

Dealer, designer and end client records, a project-shaped pipeline, portal access, and connections to the specification, order and finance systems that already hold the truth.

    3. 3

Run demand at the specifier and measure it

A programme aimed at the person who chooses your line but buys from someone else, with registration behind it, so the question of whether it produced dealer revenue has an answer rather than an opinion.

    Questions

    HubSpot for Furniture: Common Questions

Has ManoByte worked with furniture manufacturers?
Yes. Our furniture work runs across the channel rather than sitting at one level of it: office and contract furniture manufacturers including MillerKnoll and Steelcase, the seating manufacturer Irwin Seating, commercial dealers including Circadia (formerly Scott Rice Office Works) and CDI Spaces, and the home furniture retailer Furniture Mart USA, whose HubSpot migration moved roughly 300,000 contacts.
Why is HubSpot hard to configure for contract furniture?
Because the deal in a contract furniture business is not a deal in the sense HubSpot ships with. A project is specified by a designer, quoted by a dealer, priced against a manufacturer's discount schedule, and delivered and installed months later, often in phases. Out of the box HubSpot models a single opportunity closing on a single date, which is why an unconfigured instance drifts out of date within a quarter.
Can HubSpot connect to our specification and order systems?
It can be connected to them, and it should not try to replace them. CET and Configura own specification, and a dealer's order management system owns the order. HubSpot owns the relationship, the pursuit, the marketing behind it and the service motion after install. ManoByte builds the connections so those systems share a record instead of a spreadsheet.
How do you handle a manufacturer selling through a dealer network?
The same way we handle it for building product manufacturers, because the shape is the same: the dealer holds the transaction and the designer or end client makes the decision. That means dealers and end clients as distinct record types with their own pipelines, a portal that turns dealer activity into data rather than email, and demand generation aimed at the specifier who chooses you but buys from someone else.
Do you do HubSpot migrations for furniture retailers?
Yes. Furniture Mart USA moved to HubSpot Marketing Hub Enterprise with us at roughly 300,000 contacts. The work in a migration that size is not the import; it is deciding what to bring, what the segmentation should be on the other side, and how deliverability survives the move.
Is furniture a focus for ManoByte?
Construction is the focus, and furniture is adjacent to it by channel rather than by accident: manufacturers selling through dealers into commercial projects is the same distribution shape we have worked in for close to twenty years. This page exists so that experience has a URL when a furniture conversation comes up, not because we are claiming a furniture practice.

    Do you know which designers

    are specifying your line?

Most manufacturers know the dealer and guess at the rest. Tell us how your channel is structured and we will show you where the trail goes cold.
